  Problems Accessing Online Banking?

If you are experiencing problems with It's Me 247 Online Banking, please check to see if your computer is using Internet Explorer 5 or 6 (IE5 or IE6). A recent bulletin from Microsoft has alerted us that Internet Explorer versions 5 and 6 are no longer supported by Microsoft, and that these browsers can no longer be considered secure.

Microsoft offers two new browser versions – IE7 and IE8 – and both are free.  IE Version 9 is also available in beta-test mode – however, we are not encouraging our members to upgrade to this version yet.

Other supported web browsers include Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari.  For links to download the new browsers, please click here:

Surcharge-Free ATM's

Degussa Employees FCU Participates in the MoneyPass Network.  MoneyPass is a network of Elan Financial Services, one of the nation’s leading providers of comprehensive ATM and debit card processing solutions for financial institutions, Independent Sales Organizations and retailers.  MoneyPass provides surcharge free access at more than 16,000 ATMs across the United States; allowing cardholders of participating financial institutions to access their money where they live, work and travel. With over 1,100 participating financial institutions, more than 20 participating Independent Service Organizations (ISOs) and 36 million active cards, MoneyPass is a rapidly growing surcharge-free network whose emphasis is on cost efficient membership options, flexible terms and accessible locations. For more information, call 1-800-343-7064 or visit www.moneypass.com for ATM’s in your area.

Here are 5 identity theft prevention tips:

1. Don't give ANYONE access to your PIN #s.
2. Don't leave financial mail or statements lying around your house or your car -- you'd be appalled at how much information can be gleaned from your checkbook, bank statements, credit card account statements and tax records.
3. When you are discarding things, shred any personal documents that may contain personal or financial information.
4. As much as possible, sign up for electronic banking and account monitoring, and then review your accounts regularly. Any fraud will be detected sooner -- and more easily -- than if you wait for monthly mail.
5. Review your credit report, bank accounts and credit card bills frequently. Self detection is the best way to find out about identity fraud early.

New Overdraft Rules for Debit and ATM Cards

New Federal Reserve rules give debit and ATM card users additional options regarding overdrafts. In the coming months, Degussa Employees Federal Credit Union along with other banks, credit unions, and other financial institutions must offer you the ability to make decisions about overdrafts for transactions made with your debit or ATM cards.

After August 15, 2010, we are no longer be able to pay overdrafts on your one-time debit transactions or ATM transactions UNLESS we receive your consent to “opt-in”.

  • Have you ever made a mistake in your checkbook, which led you to spend more money than you actually had?
  • Have you and your spouse ever unknowingly made debit card purchases at the same time without having enough funds in your account to cover both of your purchases?
  • Have you ever needed cash fast from the ATM but your paycheck had not been deposited into your account yet?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, chances are you were still able to make your purchase(s) or obtain your funds thanks to DEFCU’s Standard Overdraft service. Our Standard Overdraft is designed to cover your overdrafts saving embarrassment and the extra hassles in your already busy day. DEFCU pays overdrafts for the following transactions: one-time debit transactions (point-of-sale), ATM transactions, checks, and other transactions made using your checking account number.

Be sure to pick up an “Opt-In” consent form at the credit union.
